The theme, The Great Depression:
Quote 1- "Not exactly. The Cunninghams are country-folks, farmers, and the crash hit them the hardest."(Lee, 21).
Quote 2- "There was no hurry, for was nowhere to go, nothing to buy and no money to buy it with, nothing to see outside the boundaries of Maycomb County." (Lee, 6).
I think this song explains my theme, the Great Depression because in the song one lyrics say at one point, "Lord, I'm no their but, a man can go wrong when he's busted," I think it describes Bob Ewell stealing away Mayella's life. Like him abusing her and her being deprived of friends, when she would look forward to Tom walking by. This book takes on the time during the Great Depression.
